Dedicated to Preserving the Heritage of Traditional Medicine

Passamaquoddy Plant Medicine

Calendar of classes and demonstrations on Native American Plant Medicine.

Program information:
The focus of all programs will be on traditional Passamaquoddy medicine plants. Photographs, displays, as well as fresh plant samples will be discussed along with Passamaquoddy language and stories that animate the plants and spiritual traditions that are a part of this beautiful tradition of medicine.

Some traditional Passamaquoddy herbal products will be available for purchase, as well as a newsletter with stories on healing with traditional plants, Passamaquoddy word origins, and interviews with tribal elders. A $15 donation for the newsletter will go toward funding projects to document and share Passamaquoddy medicine.

For all field walks and day-long workshops:
Items to bring: Stainless steel garden clippers, scissors, small sharp knife, *offering of your choice for ceremony (optional), walking shoes, clothes for rain of unpredictably chilly weather, notebook, camera, food for sharing, eating utensils and plate or bowl. *Offering could be anything held sacred or special including: sage (Artemisia-type, not culinary sage), tobacco (preferably chemical-free), special stone or rock, even compost.

Weather cancellations: Unless there is a torrential downpour, field walks will be held. If it is a rainy day, bring raingear. If the weather is totally wild, we will meet in an indoor location to be announced.

Some programs have limited participants and require advance registration
